Northern Lights! Cameras! Action! Film Challenge #2
This month, M’Guphynn Media held a screening for our first Northern Lights, Cameras, Action! Workshop, where we paid Alberta Filmmakers to screen their short films under 5min featuring Wide, Medium, and Close Up Shot coverage. In addition, we awarded $100 for best film and $100 for Audience vote film for the filmmakers in attendance.
We just held another educational workshop at SECPA (The Suncor Centre for the Performing Arts) to teach young local filmmakers the basics of Scene Coverage. Students were taught how to approach filming DIALOGUE in film, setting up shots for conversations, filming actions and reactions of performances, and the use of L and J cuts.
Now it’s YOUR turn AGAIN. M’Guphynn Media is happy to announce a Film Challenge open to ALL ALBERTA, CANADA RESIDENTS. Here are the details:
Make your own short film based on any genre but must be under 5min, feature a DIALOGUE scene with the use of L and J cuts. (see example here).
You can film on something as simple as your cell phone but the films must be appropriate for a general audience. No nudity, profane language, or graphic content.
$50 Screening Fee will be paid to each film selected to screen. Regardless of attendance.
Additional Film Prizes will be awarded to audience choice films (bring your friends), and best film, chosen by a panel of Judge. Filmmakers must be in attendance to be eligible for prizes.
The screening takes place Saturday, November 20th. The event is free but the deadline to submit is NOVEMBER 15th, 2021. Submit to info@mguphynn.com
