October 22, 2022 marked the annual Buffys; a futuristic themed evening that celebrates local artists and showcases the diversity of the arts community in our region. M’Guphynn Media was awarded Media Artists of the year due to their contribution to film and film education in the Fort McMurray community.

“From a young age, Matt Salem was filming with his friends in the high school parking lot, photographing landscapes in the Greater Toronto Area and auditioning for movies. He moved to Fort McMurray in 2012 and now works telling stories with M’Guphynn Media.”

A group of filmmakers in Fort McMurray won the award for best ensemble cast at the Miami Web Fest this month, and now they're trying to get more funding to work on the next season of their web series, Nerdvana.

“Miles Behind” is a well realized and sharply filmed action drama that focuses a lot on Miles’ transformation and struggles with being a superhero. Guillen’s direction is small scale, but he makes great use out of the limited scenery creating a larger scope often found in the “Spider-Man” movies-
