Ever heard of Godzilla? Steve Reeve of M’Guphynn Media can tell you all about him. He even has the YouTube Golden “1 Million Subscriber” Play Button to prove it.
3 years ago, Steve Reeve was approached to become the official voice of the GojiCenter Youtube Channel. The Channel’s primary focus is “Kaiju”, the Japanese name for Giant Monsters, as well as dinosaurs. GojiCenter’s main video topic focus was the analysis of Kaiju’s evolutionary traits and how they ‘measure up’ against one another. Their first video presented various facts and data about Kaiju associated with the Godzilla Legendary Pictures Monsterverse. It had no voice over and, while visually striking, played like an infographic video.
Enter Steve Reeve, An avid lover of Kaiju cinema, M’Guphynn’s resident Audio Guru, radio DJ, and Voice Over artist. GojiCenter contacted Steve via Fiverr, a website for online freelance work, to be the voice of GojiCenter. Over the course of the last 3 years, the videos have evolved from infographic to exciting Kaiju Hype videos theorizing how fights and events may take place in the next Legendary Monsterverse movies. Steve’s voice has also been immortalized as an internet meme.
At the end of 2023, GojiCenter’s YouTube channel surpassed 1 Million Subscribers. As such, the Channel Creators were awarded with YouTube’s coveted Golden Play Button each. An honor extended to Steve Reeve as the voice of the channel.
In Steve’s own words. "I am beyond thrilled to receive the Golden YouTube Play Button and give back endless gratitude to the community that has made this achievement possible, GojiCenter has become a part of my life for the last 3 years, and to see the enthusiasm coming from fans of kaiju and dino culture is completely unreal. From being a little kid watching Toho monster movies in the basement, to being a big kid covering NEW Godzilla movies on the internet, it's been a journey."
To date GojiCenter has produced more than 100 videos, with the highest view count for a single video reaching 7.3 million. The channel's total view count exceeds 195 million.
Steve’s indie passion and professional voice work can also be found in independent video game releases such as "Medic: Pacific War," "Corsairs Legacy," and "ThinkExplosive," See more of Steve’s work on his personal website.
